I wore my favorite dress, Happy Garden was dress I first saw when I was 17 and finally got at 21! I have to hold myself back from wearing this dress all the time! (ᗒᗜᗕ)՛̵̖

I've been wearing lolita for about 8 years, since I was 14. I own some of my dream dresses but I'm at the point where I want to level up my lolita wardobe. I'm less focused on main pieces and more foucsed on...everything else!

What Inspires Me In Lolita?

I started wearing lolita fashion in 2017, a year after one of the most iconic eras in lolita.

 2016 OTT sweets era.

However I was 14 and worked for peanuts and rebull drinks as a weekend babysitter, obviously I wasn't able to participate.

This was one of first pictures that exposed me to what lolita fashion is and I love everything about these coords. In fact, my goals and wants for my lolita wardrobe can all be identified in this photo.

I love this photo dearly, I even have the toy parade print in ivory! 

I love this jsk, I love this print and I love how I feel in it. This is the lolita I wanted to be when I was 14. HOWEVER there is always room for improvement. >:D

How do I want to improve as a lolita?
As of right now, I'm working on staple pieces and accessories...and more blouses, like many lolitas I have too many dresses and not enough blouses. (ᵕ—ᴗ—)

Staple pieces, to me a staple piece is an item that is iconic to lolita fashion. Rocking Horse shoes, Usa and Kuma bag, tea party shoes, parasols. I want to have tea parties in almost every color, I want at least one pair of rocking horse shoes. (Red and White) ALSO I just bought my first parasol! I'm very excited about it.

Accesories, I noticed coords I loved vs coords I don't, the main reasons was accesories! IF there was a lolita with a coord that inspired me, they had loads of accesories. Brand or not, I love a good mathcing accesory. However much as I love brand, right now in my life I can't justfy spending 50+ on a necklace with a acrylic resin charm...one day.

The main gist of my goals right now are improving my the main pieces I have vs accumulating more. (ignore that I bought a new skirt recently)

I Went To A Picnic! 𖤣.𖥧.𖡼.⚘

    I've recently decided, I no longer wanted to be a lonelita. 

For those that don't know.

     "Lonelita" refers to someone who engages in the lolita fashion style, but does so without a strong connection to the community.

    And I decided to become more socialble and engage with my community outside of swap meets, and on my own. Everytime I went to a meet up, I always brought a friend and didn't allow myself to soicalzie to my fullest extent.

This is picnic was my first step!

Unfortunately (but not so unfortunately) I didn't take many pictures because, 

One.) all of these people were new to me 

Two.) I was prioritzing socializing rather than blogging

I do however have a stock photo for you! :D

I brought a tiarmisu cake, and got lucky that the majority of poeple in attendance love tiarmisu! I find it to be an underated cake that deserves more love!! <3

I absolulety ADORE this coord, it's by far one of my favorites. My biggest inspo in lolita is 2010s sweets era, this was right before I joined lolita. I just feel so sweet and so cutesy and my Usakumya just makes me so happy. 

Owning an usakumya and owning brand isnt a requirment by any means but for me personally, it makes me feel so lolita. It just feels so nice to look the way you do in your mind.

Everyone was so sweet and kind! (and they all brought really yummy food haha) They were all so welcoming, I had so much fun chatting with them. I'm glad I decided to go and I'm excited to go to more meets on my own!

Life Update!

 

WAH! I'm back and I'm so sorry for being gone for so long! 

I feel like a villager returing to their animal crossing town.

So where have I been? (ﾟヘﾟ)？

 In truth, I've just been resting at home! This most recent year of college took alot outta me but it has been the most rewarding. My favortite art pieces have come from this year. 

Unfortunately I did not get an intership this summer which was a goal of mine. My expecations weren't too high, so I'm not too sad about it. My mom said, the right job will come to me in the right time.

Aside from resting, I'm back at working to Ulta! Yippee!

I'm grateful to have a job and a healthly work place to go to!

In other news! (I guess it's news...?)

I've been reading again! I used to be a really big book worm when I was younger, like middle school aged and I stoppped when I got a phone. Sorta. Unless you count reading fanfic on my phone.

I was in need of a new hobby, a free one! So I got library card and just dove back into reading! My first book back felt abit...symbolic? Poetic? I'm unsure of the correct word and allow me to be melodramatic.

 I read Jeanette McCurdy's I'm Glad My Mom Died. 

In middle school, I loved ICarly, it was one my favroite shows and Jeantte McCurdy's character was my favorite. So after years of not reading, and returning to something I knew. Felt nice. It felt like return to form but mature and elvated. The book is beautifully written. I highly reccomnd it, Jeanette has the rare talent of being able to tell her trauma in a humorous way.

My local library has a bingo card for the summer! That's also given me alot of motivation to read more!

And here is what I'm currently reading! I'll definately make another blog post diving into these books!
